I was going to let this day pass without mention, but, well, I didn't even get that once reliable little box of chocolates from my boss.
This is a "holiday" designed to make single (read: unattched) people feel inadequate and unloved. It's a thorn in my side, irritating and bothersome, reminding me that the last time I received a genuine valentine was... oh never mind.
Yes, I'm whining and yes, I know I have dear friends who love me, but I don't like the reminder that, currently, my most intimate companions are the books that get tossed on the other side of the bed...
...not that I'm looking.
So, to all you happy effin' couples out there - enjoy your flowers and chocolates and don't forget the lubrication....
