Good e'en, faithful reader(s)... I'm surfacing briefly from a full on bender. As it is mid-week I thought it timely for engaging in social congress. More on that in a bit...
I did a little more housecleaning here at PP - I added a little section to the left over there for some recommended reading. I will be adding more, however allow me once again to recommended Pressure Poker by fellow poker bloggist Scott Gallant.
As mentioned in a previous post, I found his advice on tournament play to be very helpful. Aimed more toward the intermediate and above player, Pressure Poker also gives the reader valuable information on how to get the most out of playing online.
If you are a serious player, Pressure Poker belongs on your library shelf along side your Harringtons.
Now, dear reader(s), I must return to my bender. No, it's not what you think. The lid remains tightly sealed on the bottle of Cuervo. I am in the midst of a Deadwood bender which began last Saturday when karma whacked me upside the head. After calling in sick with a "raging headache" on Friday following the pay-for-view broadcast of the WSOP final table, Saturday I was struck with the real thing.
I closed the curtains and the blinds (daylight hurt), loaded up Season I of Deadwood in the dvd player and spent the next 12 hours on the couch with the denizens of the mining camp. I'm now half-way through Season II and will see it to it's conclusion this evening. Then I can add HBO to my cable menu and catch up on Season III via HBO on Demand.
Yes. I am hopelessly hooked.
Have a good week - don't put your back to the door....
