We interrupt this poker blog for a brief period of diversion:
Jazz in June - Day one done - the Red Rhythm Band and Sean Costello lit the blues fuse that burned jazz hot for a crowd ready for the sizzle under a June sky. Blues Under the Stars, my favorite night of the festival, didn't disappoint.
This is when over a year's planning and hard work by a dedicated Board of Directors and volunteers pays off. For 23 years, the board has consistently been a mix of diverse folks who, year after year, are able to set ego and personal agendas aside, come together and focus on the raison d'etre - which is to produce a stellar three day free jazz festival for the community.
And then there're the board members who, ummm, are just wierd....
