To my good friends, my 'bruncheros" who occasionally drift by this lone sapling of a poker blog amidst a forest of poker blogs, I must caution you to be seated and to put down any hot beverages you may be holding before you read on.
Ok. Ready?
Yesterday I did something rather extraordinary. I cleaned out the refrigerator. And then went shopping for groceries. Wait, it doesn't stop there. Tonight, I cooked dinner.
I'll wait while you recover from the shock.
Alrighty, onward.....
I'm in a quandary. With more poker blogger gatherings in the works, I'm in a terrible state of "what to do"... I have maybe time enough available for one more trip before the holidays (other than the trip to Oregon this weekend). There's the boathouse bash, but, as much as I love the ACHE I have the feeling that soiree would be far more than I could handle, plus the timing is not good for me. Then there's a couple of blogger treks to Vegas, both in December. The way the calendar falls, neither of those dates is ideal for me, the latter dates being really impossible. So it's looking more and more like, if I make it to Vegas at all, it will be solo and sans bloggers save for the local poker blogging denizen and maybe a Pauly sighting. Which would be wonderful in its own right so the question is when to go... sigh...
So I'll be scrutinizing my calendar and hopefully I'll be able to squeeze out a trip to Vegas in the next couple of months. If I'm clever, I may just be able to get there for the next WPBT Holiday Classic, but I'd have to get really clever to do it. Otherwise, I'm looking at October or November. Actually the ideal time would be at Thanksgiving - one advantage of being a spinster. Heh.
I really enjoyed Bad Blood's post today. He discusses "reverse engineering" your opponents - very clever and very apt.
Iggy finally got an uber-post up this afternoon. I was worried I'd actually have to work the whole day, it came in the nick of time. He posted a piece from Ed Miller which is a must read for anyone attempting to or even thinking about playing poker professionally - especially for someone thinking of dropping out of school to do so. I can't disagree with anything stated in the article.
Ok - I'm done rambling now. Go do something constructive now. Me - I'm going to go watch the episode of Big Brother I just DVR'd.
