Oh, man-o-man-o-man-o-man-o-man-o-man.... I had a hard time making it into work today. I stayed up way too late last night... I kept ignoring my inner parental voice which nagged me to "turn off that computer and go to sleep right now!!" Drop down to the image in the last post and you'll get an idea of what was going on that kept me on the verge of being grounded for a month.
My evening started innocently enough. Actually, it was on the verge of ending early. True to my typical weekday evening pattern of late, I came home from work, stretched out on the couch, clicked on the TV and watched whatever I'd DVR'd from the week. Last night it was the season premier of House. After that, I clicked over to ET to learn what vacuous celeb was the star-du-jour and promptly fell asleep.
I woke up to a familiar refrain to see that the season premier of Survivor was rolling along. Here's where my subscription to Cox's cable DVR service pays for itself - rewinding live TV. I ratcheted back to the beginning to catch what I'd missed. I'm pleased to note that it doesn't look like this season is going to disappoint... CJ, any predictions, yet?
I clicked off the tube and headed for the computer. I was going to try to get a post going, but was brain dry... then I went looking for some poker and landed in a $10 SnG on Stars. I cashed in 3rd place and was just about to sign off for the night, opting for pjs, pillows, and a book, when my favorite munchkin popped up to say "hi."
I joined in a group chat with some more esteemed poker blogerati and discovered Gracie was kicking some serious butt in the Thursday Katrina Relief charity tourney on Stars. I logged back in to railbird and, of course, one thing leading to another, a poker-blogger ring game got under way... and well, it was just too much fun to walk away from.
And to top it all off - a) Gracie made the final table and placed 6th - way. to. go. girl! b) Joanne killed my set of 10s with quad fours - she is on fire! and c) Mr. Wheaton joined the circus at our little table - what a treat. Are we special, or what?
And now I'm even in more agony over the next Vegas trip. Yesterday afternoon I nearly booked flights for over Thanksgiving. Time-wise that's the best time for me to go. But, it'd be a near blogger free visit - the local blogging denizen would be there, of course, which would be fantastic in of itself.... but playing and visiting with everybody last night, I felt a tinge of the WPBT fever... what to do, what to do... December is a biatch.... but, I'm thinking I will thoroughly regret it if I don't get my butt there when the majority of my comrades will be in attendance.
More later....
