Refresh or Rebuy?

July 15, 2005 | 02:37PM  | maudie dot b - gmail d c |

I completely forgot about the Full Tilt live tourney broadcast on Wednesday - is there anyone out there who recorded it who'd be willing to burn it to DVD or tape it and send me a copy? I'll gladly cover materials and shipping - if so, email me: maudie DOT b AT gmail dc.

Greetings to you visitors who've come here via Google or some other search (and a special wink and a nod to whoever from Turkey looking for "5 card slut poker"). Before you click out of here - I invite you to bookmark this site and come back for a visit after the WSOP is over. Come back and browse the archives or, better yet, visit those folks in the blogroll to the right. If you're a poker player you will find a ton of content to help your game along with fellow players to commiserate with after the latest bad beat has kicked you squarely in the heart of the matter. Come join the Party (bonus code Iggy)- you won't be sorry.

REMINDER: The WPBT 'Charlie' Tournament is this coming Sunday at 18:00 EST - which translates to 6:00 pm EST; 5 pm CST; 3 pm VST (Vegas Time). The entry is $20 - and every cent will go to a charity chosen by Charlie's family. Get your butt over there and sign up - tournament #9680072 under the private tab.

A Guy Named Charlie & Jason's Blog - Catching the Antichrist

The 2005 WSOP is, without a doubt, one for the history books. It has also underscored the need for the TV wogs to get their shit together and get this series broadcast live. I would pay a premium for a Pay for View subscription - the technology is there, folks. Let's get going.

And this Series has also seen poker blogging come into its own due to the Herculean efforts of our very own Joe, Jr. and Joe, Sr. at Vegas Vegas; my pal and personal good luck charm Pauly at the Tao; and everybody's warm hug Brad "Otis" Willis via the PokerStars Blog. They each deserve a bracelet for grinding it out day after day, week after week to bring the WSOP to the world.

The 2005 WSOP "Millionaires Club" will soon be taking their seats to vie for the (oh-so-ugly but highly coveted) bracelet for the championship. I have a choice this evening between hitting refresh every minute on the Tao while playing online OR I can head to the T-Bird for some no-fold-em hold-em with some Okie cat-fish.

It drives me nuts that I can't be in Vegas right now. In fact I nearly succumbed to a wave of impulse this morning and considered wheadling out of the rest of the day at work, driving straight to the airport and boarding the first flight to Glitter City.

So you'd think I'd be happy to do the next best thing and hit that ol' refresh button instead. I can't do it - my anxiety level will be too high waiting for the next report.

I'm sure that my comrades will be burning the airways via AOL and Yahoo IMs, but any 2 cents I have to offer is surely a negative expectation so, rather than being relegated to the corner of the room while I chew my nails to the quick, I'm opting to pass the time in the pond with the trout. I'll read all about it after I return with, I hope, a little more to add to the stash for my efforts.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to tip your dealer...
