I'm going to be in a movie. [[big grin]]
Ok - for those of you who aren't up to date here re: the movie thing, here's a the reader's digest version:
Indepndent film Wisteria being filmed here... I was asked to audition.... read for 5 roles... called back for 2... called back for another... then zip... nada. Put it out of mind.
So last night, I was about to put it to bed when I checked my email one last time (chronic e-mail checker that I am) and had an e-mail from my colleague, the casting director, which said "Call me when you get this." The time stamp on the e-mail was an hour earlier. It was now midnight - but I called. No answer. I logged onto AIM - he was on, but didn't respond to my IM. So, I emailed back with my phone # (apparently he'd 'lost it'). Then went to bed.
I had honestly totally forgotten about it by morning (work is extremely busy right now - and I'm still recovering from Vegas - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). It was a sales call on my cell phone from a carpet cleaner that, oddly enough, reminded me I needed to call Chris, so I did. He asks what I'm doing Sunday and I scroll through my mental dayrunner... and come up with "Uh, nuthin'." He says there's a part I could do - a FEATURED extra, no lines, but screen-time with the the star. $200 bucks for a day's work. I immediately think "That will just about put me even from my Vegas losses."
I say, "When and where?" When is Sunday, and where is Perry, Oklahoma (straight north, almost to the Kansas border). Won't know the call time until Saturday evening. Am I excited? I will be, along with incredibly nervous. I've done one student film and one insudtrial along with a weekend of "acting for the camera" workshops with Lou Antonio. A totally different animal than stage acting. Whooo Weee! Color me happy.
