No blind in the dark...

April 11, 2005 | 08:34PM  | maudie dot b - gmail d c |

I am defending my big blind well. Over the course of 6,487 hands I have a "BB won per times dealt" tate of (.16 ) ; my BB Won/hand for my play on the Button .14. My BB Won/hand rate in the SB is leaky at (.24). But the grand prize goes to 4 off the button with a BB Won/hand rate of .24.

"Maudie, are you some sort of statistical wiz?" you ask. "Shucks, no," I answer. "I'm improving my game with the help of Poker Tracker and the Poker Tracker Guide."

I'm able to track how often I cold call (once and once only over the course of 310 hands in a killer $2/4 session yesterday - and I won the hand); I can find out how often I'm playing -EV hands (naked Aces - just stop playing naked aces and you'll see an immediate improvement on your bottom line); and a whole lot of other valuable information I can use to help me become a better poker player.

The Poker Tracker Guide is worth every cent of it's low $20 cost - I've already paid for it and Poker Tracker several times over by applying what I've learned from utilizing these great tools. If you are a serious student of the game, you owe it to yourself to have these tools at your fingertips. And if you are an old hand with PT, I recommend getting the Guide - you will find ways for PT to help you that you haven't discovered yet.
