Dorothy and the Scarecrow had stepped onto the yellow brick road together for a journey toward the riches of Oz. Before long, Dorothy was clad in glistening ruby slippers which had come by way of 18 pocket pairs and a couple of miracles out of nowhere, clearing the path before her toward the Emerald City. The Scarecrow, unable to finish the journey with her, urged her onward with the words, "Remember, it's yours to lose now."
With the Scarecrow's encouragement reaching her across the ether at every step, she strode bravely on toward the Emerald City. Dorothy was victorious in thwarting the Wicked Witch of the 2 Seat, and was then embroiled in battle with 8 other brave souls all vying for the same reward. She witnessed the demise of three before her and then, alas, the riches of Oz slipped out of her grasp when the rapier of her pocket sevens was broken by a broadsword of pocket jacks.
But she was not defeated - she knew this was one battle among many to come and that one day the prize would be hers.... The Scarecrow was there to lend comfort and bolster her confidence. Smiling, she vowed on a bottle of Cuervo that, one day, they would get there together......
