I don't know what it is. Certainly not my brilliant skill ... maybe it's the cheezy Russian techno-pop (aka "World Music") I've been listening to on the internet while playing .... whatever it is - I hope it keeps up. I've played 4 sit-n-go's at Pacific in the last 3 days - 2 of them 2 tablers - and I won one, lost one and place 2nd and 3rd in the other two. I know the wins are due far less to my skill at the table, and far more to how bad the other players are. I won some hands I had no business winning, that's for sure. I just happened to be less bad than most of the others at the tables.
At any rate, I've been attempting to apply a genuine strategy to these games and concentrate especially on reading opponents. For every move I made I also attempted to take the thought process a few steps farther down the road - and it seems to have helped get me into the money. Time will tell, though.
I still hate the Pacific software. I lost two hands (one I was sure was the nuts and I was deciding on how much to bet) to forced folds after I timed out - the clock doesn't allow sufficient time for tough decisions. Also, when all-in and called, only the winner of the hand shows cards - and the show-down goes fast. Most of all I HATE THAT HONK!. I'm glad the PokerStars has offered to host the next blogger extravaganza!
