Don't piss off a blogger...

August 22, 2004 | 07:48PM  | maudie dot b - gmail d c |

Pacific Poker made a major faux pas this evening - 75 folks were ready to take on each other in the Monty Memorial WBT IV but didn't get the tourney up. Bad move, Pacific. I don't know about the other folks, but I've taken my money out of there - at least I've made the cash-out request...let's see how long it takes to get into my neteller account.... So, folks, I'm strongly recommending by-passing Pacific Poker for your online poker experience and, while you're at it - give them a call and tell them why you are taking your business elsewhere - 1-800-480-5186.

The only things Pacific poker had going for it were the soft games and Dan Harrington as one of its shills. In the NL tourneys, the showdowns went too fast, not to mention that when heads up, you had to check to get the showdown going. No hand histories are available for download or e-mailed to you. the cash games were limit only. You only had 18 seconds to make a decision and at 10 you had to endure a very annoying honk. Let me put it thusly (I'm releasing the 17 year old inside me, now) - Pacific sucks. Royally.

Iggy - thanks for taking this task on - you should not feel responsible. You did everything you were supposed to do to get this going, capice?

Later that evening...

So I go over to Empire to regain some of the change I dropped in a $50 NL earlier in the day and manage to get back half of it .. I finish the laundry and wanting to quell the tourney itch that couldn't get scratched earlier, I went for a $10 sit-n-go. Second hand on the button - pocket AA, several limps in and I raise it up to 60 to go - oh hell, I'll cut to the chase - I go out to a guy who called the raise with a Q-9 and flopped a boat. "Oh, the humanity!"

Even later that evening...

Checked the mail before signing off for the evening and here's what was in the in-box...
