Before I left for vacation I pulled up stakes at Party. I was having a severe down swing and in order to combat it, I thought a change of venue may be in order. I have done that several times before, and it does help, to be truthful.
So upon my return from New Mexico, I ruminated over where to put down some temporary roots. Of the sites I'd downloaded and were new to me, I ruled out Full Tilt for the time being - I don't like the graphics there and it's still new - not many players (I got my 'USA Poker Team' shirt and cap, by the way - cool). The other one was Empire (set up the account from work). This wouldn't be a 'new' site, as it's a skin for Party (apparantly the tournaments are different, and there are some different perks..), but I decided to go there. The color scheme is much nicer and frankly, Party's colors were annoying me (maybe this is a girl thing?).
I was able to get a bonus, which was nice. And I had some damn fine sessions at the limit tables. Especially one at a $2/4 where I nearly tripled my buy-in in less than and hour and a half.
Sit-n-Go tables are a different story. I am still on the downside there. And I had one hilarious experience at a $50+5 multi last night. I was feeling good and thought I'd give it a go. I lasted 5 (count 'em) 5 hands ... not rounds .... 5 hands.
Small Blind - most of the table limps, I complete and flop 2 pair. Half the stack gets siphoned off to a set of fives. Pocket sixes bleed away more to over cards that make a hand by the river. The very next hand - pocket sixes again. Forced to go all-in, make a set which loses to a set of aces. I typed in the chat "What's a girl to do?"
But I went back to the cash games and got my buy-in back there. So, the girl wins some and the girl loses some .... that's what she does.

And then what the hell does she do? She enters a $5+1 tourney and it takes her 7 hands to realize it's a LIMIT tourney... der .. just slap her.
