Land mines and cow patties...

May 9, 2004 | 12:24AM  | maudie dot b - gmail d c |

I had one long grinding session this evening. I didn't do well - certainly not as good as I should have, considering the cards I was getting and playing. It became clear early on that I had entered the freaky land of 'Ennyacelldoo', capitol city 'Ennyfacelldoo.' I could not shake people off their hands - I was not prepared to go uber-aggressive, if not maniacal, which would have been the only other strategy to pull out of the hat. I had to wait for the nuts or play very conservatively. I just do not have the skill (or the bankroll) to outplay a table full of fishkies who insist on answering pre-flop raises with marginal hands at best, trash at worst.

Pauly stopped by for a bit and continued on his streak - the guy's in the groove. I was there up until this week - I had a good run of positive sessions, and then took a few steps backward this week - starting with the 'insomniac' session described below.

I pulled out of the NL tables and hopped over to a $1/$2 limit table. I haven't played limit in, probably, over a month now. It only took a couple of hands to get back into the feel of it. I managed to do alright against the fish in this pond and gained back almost all I'd piddled away this week. However, I lost some of my gain against a fella who called my pre-flop raise and a re-raise on the turn with a Q-2 in his hand and spiked his full (qq-222) on the river against my set. It just makes you want to eat dirt.

The bad blogjammin' baitshop boys hopped in the troller, popped some brews (I'm guessin') and set their hooks in the pond (bonus code KEB, dammit) this afternoon. Naughty boyz. Are you going to share your tag list, hmmmmmm? (Oh, jeez, hope I'm not on it - Pauly has been sittin' at my table a lot lately.....hmm).

Okey-dokey....think I'll take a break and actually do some work around the house in the mornin'. What a concept!!

Keep those placards in the air!
