I looked at the history for the tourney last night and this is how the last hand for me went down. I would appreciate any and all opinions and advice. Did I play this correctly (I don't think so)? What else could I have done? I think my opponent overvalued his hand pre-flop and got lucky. Agree? Disagree? What would you have done? Discourse, please.
As stated below I was just transported to this table and had nary a second to look around and see what I was up against and had A♦A♠ under the gun. Blinds were T-750/1500. I had T-11,986.
I came in with a raise 2x the big blind T-3000 and was called by a guy to my left who had a little over T-1000 more than me.
Flop: K♠9♦J♣
I bet out T-4,000 - underbetting the pot. I can't tell you why, but I suspect I was fearful of pushing in. I was called.
Turn:K♠9♦J♣J♥
I checked. Logically a check in this hand, I think, is made for one of 2 reasons, if at all. You are checking for information, or you are checking to trap. Again, I had faulty thinking. I don't know precisely why I checked. My opponent moved all in. Without thinking (arrg), I called. The river was a blank. My opponent had J♠T♠.
So talk to me - all opinions and advice are welcome.
PS: looking at the history, I was there for 50 hands and won 4 pots....
