...but I'm feeling a little sad right now. It's heads up at the WSOP final table and none of the veterans are there. I was "woo-hooo"-ing for Dan Harrington and, for a bit there, it looked like he might have a shot. At least he busted out with a prize of $1.5 million! Not bad for a few days' work.
I don't know why I should feel sad that the Internets are doing so well. Perhaps it's because this Series marks a sea-change in the tournament which means it will never, ever be the tourney of "the good ol' days" and that makes me sad for the old-timers. They are the players who knocked out the dusty miles traveling the circuits in the 50s, 60s and 70s paving the way with their grit and spit playing, at times, for nothing more than their next meal - all for the sheer love of the game.
I hope the Internets are aware of whose shoulders they are standing on....
