Ho-hum....

May 15, 2004 | 11:10PM  | maudie dot b - gmail d c |

I haven't had a day like today in a long time. It was like a bad sitcom complete with bad jokes and bad timing (oops - let me interrupt myself for a moment - I just took down a pot at $2/4 on Pacific with the hammer...). I've been teased with seeing my folded trash making monster hands (Negreanu would have wiped up with my discards today), been given monster cards to see low-ball flops, and seen really bad players have their moment in the sun (jeez I hate that honk at Pacific - it just went off and it is annoying!) I'm having a dry spell right now. The law of averages have caught up with me and this I must endure as we all must from time to time. My question is - why does this period seem to last longer and happen more often than the flush periods? Hmmmmm? Does any one have some math on that? I've taken an adverse swing. But I'm staying positive.

I played a $10 SnG at Party this afternoon. I did ok for a while. Had AA twice which held up both times and JJ - all three of these hands came within one or two hands of each other. I was chip leader for a while, but then the cards went cold, I made a couple of bad calls and eventually busted out at fifth.

Has anyone who's been playing Pacific this week got the feeling I do that the flops there tend to weigh a little on the flush side?

With the way the cards have been coming this weekend, it may behoove me to take a little break this week. I've had a nice run up 'til now, I dare not spoil it by overplaying while I'm in the card doldrums.

I look forward to the tourney, though, and hope that the cards will be kind.

(wow just saw the third set of quads today - almost like being at UB again...)
