After my "beating" this afternoon" I took a break, did a little reading - not poker - (Bookman's Promise) - and then took a nap. Feeling refreshed and determined, I climbed back on the horse and joined a .50/$1 limit table at Party Poker. Oh, the humiliation...to be sent down to the rookie tables only to hack away hand after hand, Lady Luck taunting me, teasing me, sucking me in only to give her favors to the K5 offsuit next to me in the lavendar shirt and badly bleached blonde hair. She could at least have better taste. I couldn't bear it any longer. I got up and went looking for fairer game. The $1/$2 limit tables were going to be my next hunting ground, but there were too many hooks in the ponds and the wait would be long. I thought a moment or two, considered, perhaps, a SnG, and then decided to switch gears. I sat down at a $25 no-limit table. I resolved to play 'uber' tight - Lady Luck be damned, if she was going to forsake me, then I would make my own damn luck. For the next 108 hands that's exactly what I did. My flop percentage was a tight 21%. I saw 23 flops, won 12 hands and 100% (a first) of my showdowns. I ended the session up 75.2 BB at 17 bb/hr. That horse and I had a good ride....
