I've been buried in .cgi for the last two days solid. I'm in the process of converting to Greymatter for the blog and it is a bitch the dickens to configure and transfer my Blog archives over. However, Greymatter will allow me to access my blog from work and, well, any computer with internet access or e-mail (if I ever figure out how to set that up).
Ennnyway - I had a profitable morning at Party-Poker-bonus-code-KEB. Pauly stopped by just in time to witness me make a call on a guy who'd pushed all in 3 or 4 times in a row - I held A-J offsuit and thought he'd bullied the table long enough. He had K-J and I got the pot with Aces up to his Kings up. I had a nice little rush and then hit some cold cards and a table changeover that brought a couple of tougher players to the table. I'd made a couple of bad plays and was about to see the session at barely break even when I played out a hand I had no business in. I think I had a Jc-Td. Five us limped into a family pot. The flop came Th, 6d, 8c. 2 check and 1 bets out $1 - I thought a moment and decided to raise my top pair - I thought I was leading at the moment or at least tied with another T.
I get called by a guy after me and the guy who bet out. Not what I wanted which was to either steal the pot right there or get heads up. The turn came a 4s - a triple belly buster strait draw (is there such a thing?) now on the board. The guy ahead of me checks - I thought a while, and considered checking, but I wanted to maintain the appearance of strength so I bet out $3 into a $12 pot. The guy after me raises $3, the other guy calls and the decision's on me. I thought some more. To call the bet and lose the hand would put me at even (+.25) for the morning (roughly 50+ hands). I figured I was pot committed, I just couldn't fathom what these guys were holding. Again one of my hunches. So I said "what the hell" and called.
River came another 4 giving me Tens up. Now the first guy bets out $5. I called and the guy behind me called all-in ($4.75). Showdown:
First guy had 88 up
I had TT up. Third guy had 88 up - only he got his hand on the flop 88-66 - he was
leading all the way to the river - I rivered him. He wasn't happy.
I collected $42.25, net +$27.75 which put me back up. Pauly had stopped by again and witnessed this comedy. I got a couple of hands more and ended the session up $43.43.
So, there we were Larry, Moe and Curly stumbling through this funky hand.
